SB Connect Winter 2016

In the eco fast lane

Runners in the Jogscotland 5k challenge in June passed through some of the most beautiful countryside in the Borders. And this year, it was one of the greenest fun runs around.

Zero Waste Scotland volunteers were on hand at the Dryburgh Abbey Hotel to help participants recycle their waste as they jogged through the magnificent wooded estate and along the River Tweed.

Miriam Adcock of Zero Waste Scotland said: “Volunteers made sure that empty water bottles and cans went into recycling bags, rather than ending up in landfill. It just shows that recycling is something that everyone can do in everyday life, no matter what the occasion.”
