Brilliant Views of the Tweed Valley

This season’s walk is drawn from the newly reprinted Paths Around Peebles booklet.

Peebles has long been known as a popular tourist destination and due to the surrounding rolling hills, extensive woodlands and the Tweed valley, it’s not surprising that the area attracts a significant amount of walkers.

Cademuir Forest and the John Buchan Way, route eight from the booklet, is a great two to three hour introduction to walking in the area. The route affords great views for relatively little effort yet offers walkers opportunities to explore the area south of Peebles.

Most of the pathways have distinctive way markers. However, before starting your walk, you should refer to the Paths Around Peebles booklet and use the relevant Ordnance Survey map to ensure you have the full information required to enjoy and complete your walk.
